Music Program at Zion Lutheran School



Zion's music program strives to provide a well balanced musical experience in a Christ centered atmosphere.

Zion's music program ...

  • provides opportunities for children at all levels to develop an appreciation and understanding of music.
  • helps students develop their voices.
  • allows students to experience music participation through regular classroom instruction as they:
    • rehearse as a classroom choir.
    • learn to play instruments.
    • rehearse as a separate choir.
    • learn to play small percussion instruments.
    • learn to play the recorder (third grade).
    • learn to play the chimes (fourth grade).
    • participate in Handbell choirs (seventh and eight grade).
  • Through public performance they:
    • Participate in several public performances throughout the year.
    • Participate in a December Advent Service (grades K-8).
    • Participate in the Spring Musical in May (grades K-8).
    • Participate in a Handbell concert in May (grades 7-8).
  • Through the band program, students in fourth through eighth grade have the:
    • opportunity to learn an instrument in a small group with helpful, indiviualized instruction.
    • opportunity to participate in band concerts in December, March and May.
